My name is Cynthia Christman.
Welcome to my Pet Portrait and Wildlife Paintings Website.

I have worked as a professional animal artist in the Northwoods of Wisconsin since 1990. Recently I have made the long dreamed of move to Helena, Montana.
As you can see by the photo, I do traditional hand-painted art, NOT a computer manipulated image.
I work in artists’ soft pastels in a variety of hardnesses on
Hahnemuhle velour paper, using YOUR photographs for reference.

I have always been an "animal person" and become totally immersed when working with clients to capture their pet's likeness and personality in commissioned portraits. Every pet portrait you see on these pages has a
story that goes with them: Lucky, the lone survivor when an unwanted litter was destroyed; Chance, who found his forever home after his third and final placement; Woodtick, who earned his Master Hunter title after he had a broken canine tooth repaired with a solid gold one so he could comfortably retrieve; uncountable memorials for beloved pets that have passed along with many commissions of grandpuppies as gifts for family members. It brings me great joy to help bring people's memories to life.
